Waterfall Desk

The waterfall desk was original launched at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair of 2002 as a solid poplar piece. For nearly a year it haunted me and kept surfacing in drawings when ever I sat down with my wife Virginia at our kitchen table in Brooklyn , where she would spend her evenings painting after the kids were asleep. It took nearly two years to develop a process that would allow its skin to be any veneer desired and was structurally sound. It involves four molds for inner and outer skins, a traditional veneer press, and a composite of materials that include fiberglass chopped strand and polyester resin. 30"h x 5'L x 30"deep
Currently available and on display at Design Lush in NYC and Twentieth in LA.
